How To Find Christmas Gifts for Dog Lovers And Their Dogs

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006
How To Tip! When next Christmas comes around withdraw your money and repeat the process again.

If you have dog lovers in your family, it’s time to think of some unique gifts you can give them this Christmas. They will remember this gift for a long time if you not only give them a gift form themselves, but include something for their dog or puppy.

The Complete Christmas Collection. Christmas Recipes, Crafts and Kids Activities.

To get your ideas flowing, here are some gifts you can get for the dog lover: of course, if you can take some pictures of their dog in advance, many of the following ideas will be even more special.

  • a T-shirt/sweatshirt that says My Dog Loves Me – they’ll be proud to wear it.
  •

  • a picture of their dog framed in a paw picture frame – there is no better way to let them know you love them: every time they walk past this picture, they’ll be reminded of your kind gesture, and that you took the time to give them something special.
  •

  • a collectible figurine featuring their dog breed – this will become part of the room decor.
  •

How To Tip! Support – Who’s your best support at Christmas ? Santa Claus or you may know him as Saint Nicholas. Think about his qualities ? kind, generous, loving, forgiving.

  • a dog lover’s calendar – excellent gift that keeps on giving: every month they’ll have a new beautiful dog to look at and enjoy.
  •

  • a nice, fuzzy, personalized throw to keep them and their dog warm on chilly evenings.
  •

  • a cooking book with dog recipes
  •

  • dog lover screen saver

Now that you picked a nice gift for the dog lover, it’s time to find some gifts for the dog. Here are just a few ideas to get your started:

How To Tip! To prevent quarrelling on Christmas day family members must place their shoes side by side Christmas Eve.

  • a plush toy: be it a ball, a bone, or some other shape, dogs really enjoy these fluffy toys. Some come with a noise maker, but be careful that this toy won’t become annoying for the owner
  •

  • doggy clothing: you may get something pretty, or, if you like practical, get something warm for the winter, so when they take a talk the dog stays warm.
  •

  • doggy treats are very popular these days, and you can find them in pet stores everywhere. But, if you have the time, cook some treats yourself, and make a new friend
  •

  • treat machine, similar to the candy machines, where you press a handle and get a piece of candy. This will entertain the dog for hours and get him a treat every time he presses the handle. What fun!
  •

  • pampering items, like doggie shampoo, a nice brush, and even a nice bandana.

So, as you see, there are lots of ways to spoil your dog lover friends and family and their pet.

How To Choose A Christmas Gift For A Man

Sunday, October 15th, 2006
How To Tip! Take your Christmas Dinner budget and make a shopping list.

Each year, I have the same problem. I can never decide what to buy for my husband, my father, and my brothers. I can buy very easily for the women in my family, and for my friends, but when it comes time to buy a Christmas gift for a man, I get stumped rather easily.

I don’t know why this is, it just is. It seems that men are pickier than they seem, and I just never feel like I get it wrong. If you have trouble finding a Christmas gift for a man, you have to get some help.

You can find ideas online, and this is what has finally helped me in my search for a Christmas gift for a man in my life. The problem seems to be that stores have the same stuff each year, and most of the stuff is worthless to the men that I know. They don’t need any golf clubs, and if they did, I should not be the one picking one out. Surely a big screen television would be great, but it is a little bit out of my budget. So when it comes time to buy, I turn to the Internet to find what I need.

How To Tip! Leave the credit card at home and pay for Christmas with money wherever possible.

A little searching should help you come up with some good ideas. You don’t have to buy online, but it is a great place to find a Christmas gift for a man that you cannot find anywhere else. You can even look on eBay for your choice, to see if you can get it for a better price than offered by the website you found. The great thing about searching online is that you can get items delivered to your home, which totally bypasses the crowds in the stores.

How To Tip! Balsam Fir – Another Christmas classic. Traditional look and heavenly scent.

If you don’t have any luck online, you can try infomercials. I know, I know, these are annoying, but they also have great products. Even better, you should check out the Home Shopping Network or QVC. When it comes time for the holidays, many of these have shows that cater to helping you find the perfect Christmas gift for a man. If they can’t help you, perhaps no one can.

When it just seems like nothing is working out, and you think buying a Christmas gift for a man is hopeless, know that you have one last option. This may not seem like the best gift, but it will always be a welcome one. No matter what their favorite hobby may be, you can find a gift certificate that will help them buy time, equipment, supplies, or anything else they may have a use for. Buying a Christmas gift for a man should not be this hard, but perhaps that is just how it is.

How To Find A Unique Holiday Business Gift Idea

Sunday, October 15th, 2006
How To Tip! One of the pagan traditions that Christians have incorporated into their Christmas celebration includes hanging mistletoe.

Finding a holiday business gift idea for the office poses many challenges. First of all you want to consider who is working in the area. Some people celebrate other holidays during this season while others prefer not to celebrate Christmas at all. It is important to take everyone into consideration.

Many workplaces welcome a Christmas gift for the office while others prefer to avoid making a big deal out of the religious holiday. Considering the atmosphere will help you decide if a holiday business gift is a good idea in the first place.

I found that my small group of employees all celebrate the holiday season so choosing to give a Christmas gift for the office was a great holiday business gift idea for my situation. I decided to create a huge holiday basket filled with a handful of smaller baskets. The smaller baskets are filled with great treats for the staff.

How To Tip! Blue Spruce – The Christmas Classic. Bushy, dark green and beautiful.

Since there are only four employees in the entire building I had no problem putting together one Christmas gift for the office that can be broken down into smaller gifts. The huge basket will be left in the office for decoration and for holding plants. The smaller baskets in the Christmas gift for the office go to each employee.

Finding the items to create this interesting arrangement was not difficult. You can find oversized baskets at just about any craft store. The smaller baskets are very easy to find as well and they are inexpensive. The challenge in this holiday business gift idea is filling the baskets with meaningful items.

I definitely didn’t want to go with coffee mugs. It seems as if we get these items at just about every office function. Coming up with an original idea was difficult but it was really worth it. I decided to combine food and sentimental items to create the perfect Christmas present for the office that has a personal touch.

How To Tip! Wish Creation – Make wishes on the eve of Christmas. This is a special time as it is the night when the Star of Bethlehem magically appeared.

I chose gourmet food items like vinegars, oils and sauces for one of the baskets. I chose chocolate for the two chocolate-loves and different kinds of specialty coffees for the coffee enthusiast in the group. Each employee also received a personalized frame for pictures of their loved ones in this Christmas gift for the office.

The Complete Christmas Collection. Christmas Recipes, Crafts and Kids Activities.

It would have been easy to buy pre-made basket arrangements but I always communicate that we work as a team. This holiday business gift idea represents that we are one unit but we still retain our individuality as well.

How To Select An Executive Gift – Smoked Salmon

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

There are numerous industries which interact with clients that would be better off giving a real gift of appreciation at the close of a deal, or business sale, than gifting some cheap logo scribed trinket. For an executive gift or corporate gift you may consider a fine gourmet gift of class and distinction, Alaska smoked salmon.

Real estate, mortgage, and corporate executives are constantly looking for the closing gift that will appear genuinely thoughtful, and be sincerely appreciated and remembered by their customer or client. An executive gift, like a glass golf ball on the desk plaque, just doesn’t work for most people. You may say, ‘but it is cheap, and you can purchase them by the case, and even have them engraved.’ Sure you can, and you can certainly go with that, but your corporate image will reflect those same under laying tones. What does the recipient perceive? A cheap gift. You know, about as useful as the chiropractor’s bent pen.

Tip! The secret is personalization. No, no, not as in giving gifts with names and such engraved on them, though those can be quite, quite nice.

One mortgage company came up with a great solution to this need. At the close of every deal, their clients receive a gourmet gift box of smoked Alaskan salmon. Inside the box is 8 ounces of smoked sockeye salmon from Alaska. A recipe is included for a smoked salmon appetizer. Smoked salmon hors d’oeuvres make the perfect addition to a party with smoked salmon appetizers and dips.

At Christmas, one University sent every member of their board, an executive gift of a smoked salmon Wood Gift Box. This beautifully crafted wood gift box enclosed an 8 ounce fillet of Copper River Sockeye Salmon. In gourmet circles, Copper River Sockeye salmon is recognized as the premiere red salmon of the world, for flavor and taste. Smoked sockeye salmon has the bright red appearance and succulent flavor that gourmet chefs from around the world, integrate into their entrees and salmon recipes.

Tip! Most gift companies will send a personalized note with the gift. Your note should mention a word of appreciation, an accomplishment by the client, or a task you’ve accomplished together during the year.

A corporate gift or an executive gift would be far more appealing if it were something unique and something really good to eat. Smoked salmon is an ideal choice. Today smoked salmon is packaged in foil retort packages and is COMPLETELY SHELF STABLE, which is easily mailed across the country. Smoked salmon gifts fits any gift giving occasion or designation. Companies can purchase wholesale cases of smoked salmon gift boxes for very affordable prices.

For corporate and business gifts, smoked salmon makes a great gift if a party is to be attended, you would be amazed at the reception. Imagine business associates asking, where did the smoked salmon come from? Who brought it? Does the glass golf ball on the desk get that kind of referral?

Do your business a favor, and make the investment of giving a gift that actually has ROI.
Remarkably, smoked salmon from Alaska is healthy and a good source for important nutrients and Omega 3. Can the glass golf ball do that?

How To Plan A Perfect Baby Shower Party

Friday, October 13th, 2006
Tip! The baby will sleep undisturbed by parents coming and going. As they get older, that will be particularly important in the evening and night.

First thing which comes to mind hearing the four magical words, ?We’re having a baby?? is of course a baby shower party. The baby shower party is a great way of expressing the importance of the event as in a very perfect manner ? Congratulates?, the expectant parents and also conveys ?We’re happy for you,? or ? Best Wishes.? Baby shower party is sharing of happiness among the expected parents, Friends and their relatives.

Tip! Family History. Family History often comes into play when naming a baby.

Baby shower parties are organized usually at the last months of pregnancy, hosted by close friends or relative, where the main aim lies to boost the parents-to-be excited for the future member of the family. To make the baby shower party a memorable event, it requires careful planning to ensure one has a great time at the party. Though there not much rules to follow for a baby shower party, but the following tips might also be of great help.

Choosing the right place

Keeping the expected mother’s health in mind, mostly baby shower parties are conducted at the parent-to-be’s house. Where guests find themselves more comfortable at home, which usually among closet friends and family members. If the weather permits baby shower parties can also be organized outdoors, wherein a barbecue party or a party at the local park can add-on to the excitement of the expected parents.

Tip! Cotton bodysuits, absorbent baby blankets, bibs, and baby booties are items that a new parent can never have enough of. Babies, God Bless them, are messy little things sometimes.

Though organizing a baby shower in a reserved secluded area like bar or restaurant might be costly, but it is of less complications as the decoration, food and drinks with the post-party arrangements are already been taken care of.

Choosing he party’s theme

Re-creating the mood of the expectant parents with the help of a theme to decorate the venue appropriately according to the taste of the expectant parents, which can be their favorite hangouts or movies. Or the recreation of their honeymoon spot, can be easy and a great idea.

As the whole idea is to welcome the baby, a childish atmosphere using bright colors and cartoon characters depending on the baby’s gender can be created.

Finalizing the menu

A lot depends upon what time the event to be held and the taste of the guests. If in case a party is thrown at the lunch or the dinnertime, usually heavier meals will be served. Whereas in most of baby shower parties the host usually serves pastries, finger food and other bake foods for convenience.

Tip! You and your family might want to pick baby names in honor of favorite relatives or ancestors, or special names that show your family’s ethnic roots. You may even want to borrow a name from one of your favorite celebrities or sports athelete.

Designing a fun program

Just to refresh the guests child hood memories conducting fun games such as dum-charades would be a great idea, which is usually contrary to people beliefs for a baby shower party to be limited to mingling around eating, drinking and gift giving.

Tip! Take the baby for a car ride.

Creating the guest list and send out invitations

As the baby shower parties are the parents’ events and not the host, so the choice of the people also kept in mind before hosting the party. Where list of closet friends and family members of the expectant parents’ is prepared with their approval to avoid any embarrassing mistakes.

Homemade invitations would be a good choice and give a personal touch, though ready-made baby shower invitations are readily available in the market.

Just to be organized, prepare a final list of attendees a few days before the baby shower. Make sure the invitation reaches the guests two or four weeks ahead giving them time to fix their schedule. The baby shower invitation would consists of date, time, place, attire preferred, gift registry, if any, the host’s contact numbers for RSVP.

Tip! If you have talent and time, try making a baby gift yourself. There are many ideas online as well as great resources at bookstores and your local library.

How To Make Christmas Gifts for Dad – 2 Easy Projects for Children

Sunday, October 1st, 2006
How To Tip! The ornaments – A wide variety of ornaments depicting a specific theme work very well. My ornaments are mostly gold and white with some dark red or Christmas red and Navy blue thrown in for accent.

Is Dad hard to buy Christmas gifts for? If adults have difficulty choosing holiday gifts for men, think of the problem it is for children. Here are two possibilities.

Fire Starters for Dad

Most dads have either a fireplace or barbeque and can use fire starters. Have the child pick up pine cones at the park or anywhere there are pine trees. Let them dry out. You can decorate them with a little glitter if you wish. Pile them up in an attractive basket or bucket, add a big ribbon and the gift is ready. It’s also inexpensive!

If pine cones are not available, twigs will work fine for fire starters. Gather them in sheaves and tie them with ribbon. Stand them up in a basket or bucket. Add a big ribbon to the handle.

How To Tip! Take your Christmas Gift budget that was allocated in step 1 and divide it by the number of gifts you need to buy. This number will be the maximum you can spend on each gift.

A third type of fire starter is made with adult help. Save up your cardboard egg cartons. Cut off the tops and recycle them. Get some cotton twine and thread it through the bottom of each section of the egg carton, tying a knot underneath so it does not pull through. Cut the twine at the height of the egg carton plus one inch. This is the wick. Melt paraffin (adults only) and pour it into each section, very carefully. Keep the wick upright. Sprinkle a little glitter on top. Let dry. When dad needs a fire starter, he cuts one or two sections, puts them in the fireplace under the wood and lights them.

How To Tip! Card List – It is very important to ensure you don’t miss anyone. You need to ensure you get your Christmas wishes to all you know.

Bird Feeders: A Project for Dad and His Kid To Share at Christmas

This gift is a project for Dad and his kid to do together. The Christmas gift for Dad is the materials for the bird feeders. You need: a few pine cones, the larger, the better. Yarn, a scissors, two butter knives, a jar of peanut butter, and bird seed are also needed. Decorate a box big enough to hold everything, with a lid. Put everything in the box, cover, and add a ribbon.

How To Tip! One of the pagan traditions that Christians have incorporated into their Christmas celebration includes hanging mistletoe.

When Dad is ready to help his kid with the project, they use the butter knives to spread peanut butter on the tips of the pine cone sections. Sprinkle bird seed on top of the peanut butter. Use the scissors to cut the yarn and tie it to the pine cone to make a hanger. Hang your bird feeders outdoors.

These simple Christmas gifts for Dad should help solve the problem of what to buy him for Christmas!

How To Make Your Baby Gift Basket A Hit At The Baby Shower

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006
Tip! Do what comes naturally. Adapt signs to suit you or your baby if you want.

The gift of a baby gift basket is one that can show that you are very kind and thoughtful if it is done right. If you fill it full of useless items it will be tossed to the side, but if you put a little thought into it you can create a baby gift basket that will impress all of the attendees of the baby shower. Here are a few ideas.

First off, remember that baby shower gifts should be for a baby, not for toddlers. The new parents will have enough lying around without having to store gifts that can’t be used for a year or more!

Tip! Start looking at baby names early. You are likely to change your mind often, so the more time you allow, the easier it will be.

Items for the baby nursery are always in vogue. Include a brightly colored mobile, musical mobile, or nursery rhyme CDs. If you are making a large basket you can even include things like changing pads. Age appropriate educational toys are always appreciated as well. In addition rattles, teething rings, pacifiers, bibs, and baby spoons will go nicely too.

Most babies love a bath and so does the new mommy. Including bath products for the new baby will go over big. Put items like baby shampoo, bubble bath, baby towels, and some toys for the tub that the baby will enjoy playing with. You can also include baby clothes in the gift basket, just make sure that they are for the gender of the baby or if the gender is unknown go with neutral colors like yellow or green.

Tip! Use the internet. There are lots of great resources online, from baby name lists, to articles about the meanings and origins of names, to forums.

It is a pleasant surprise to include fresh baked baby cookies, jelly beans, and other baby foods in the gift basket as well. Since the new parents will undoubtedly be taking lots of pictures, things like photos albums and picture frames will be greatly appreciated too.

Bearing in mind that the gift basket is as much for the parents as it is for the baby, you can also include items like fine gourmet food and a nice bottle of wine for the mommy and daddy to have for a relaxing evening.

If you are the crafty type then make your own bows and ribbons and customize the basket in other ways to express your personality in your gift. The recipient of the baby gift basket you have created will know that you have surely put a lot of thought and work into putting it all together. Just taking a little extra time to think it all out makes a huge difference in whether your baby gift basket is a flop or a hit!

Tip! Be careful not to pick a name that’s really cute for an adorable little baby but will sound silly when your little one grows up. (For example, Dimples or Cutie Pie.

How To Select A Cheese Of the Month Club

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

Most people would love to get a package every month with new and different varieties of their favorite consumable for them to enjoy. For example, a cheese of the month club would be a great gift selection for anyone who loves cheese.

Of course, there are things that need to be considered before giving a monthly gift club. Will it be for just one person, or will the whole family be enjoying the cheese of the month club? Usually these monthly samplings are just right for one person, but for gifts like cheese, you want to make sure that the monthly quantity can be used because it can’t be frozen for long term storage.

If you are considering a cheese of the month club but aren’t quite sure which one to pick, go online for a good selection of web based gift retailers that will surely have just the right thing.

There are many varieties of cheese, more than most of us know even existed. Here in the United States, most of us think of the state of Wisconsin as the home of cheese production. This is just one place that creates select varieties offered through cheese of the month clubs. If you’re interested check out www.wisconsinmade.com for more information on cheese varieties, gift baskets, and other great selections.

If you are looking for a fine selection of rare gourmet cheeses from all over the world go to www.cheesemonthclub.com. This gourmet cheese of the month club also features recipes and wine pairings for the different varieties offered each month.

There are lots of different gift options available, including monthly clubs for popular items, such as cheese, wine, chocolate, fruit, beer, etc. If you want to give someone a gift that keeps on giving, any one of these would be a great choice.

Whatever the purpose of considering a cheese of the month club, it makes a great gift or indulgence for yourself and/or your family. Everyone deserves a special treat every now and then, and cheese is a tasty complement to most anything, in appetizers, entrée’s, side dishes, or all by itself with a fragrant glass of wine.

If you are connoisseur of wine and cheese, check out sites that feature monthly clubs for both, or even beer and cheese of the month clubs. You shouldn’t have any trouble finding just what you want, in fact, you’ll probably find yourself in a quandary as to which one you should try first!

How To Make A Cheap Christmas Gift Look Fabulous

Monday, September 25th, 2006

It is completely understandable that there are situations where a gift giver does not want to spend much money on a gift, whether it be because of an occasion like an office gift exchange where you don’t know the recipient that well, or because of overall finances for all gifts for the year.

We have all been in a situation where we have wanted to give a relatively cheap Christmas gift and have ended up frustrated beyond belief because we haven’t been able to find something that didn’t look like it cost five dollars.

We’ve all gotten a terrible cheap Christmas gift that is clearly something that was picked up at the last minute without any thought, and obvious that the giver did not spend much money.

There are ways to give a cheap Christmas gift without coming off looking like a holiday scrooge or a cheapskate.  One of the best ways to give a cheap Christmas gift is to dress it up in fabulous wrapping.

Presentation is everything, and if you put some time and effort into the packaging you will be surprised how much better that cheap Christmas gift will look.  Using things like paper mache boxes and thick ribbon can make all the difference in the world.

Everyone always appreciates homemade goodies during the holiday season as well.  Make up a batch of spiced nuts, chocolate covered pretzels or your best banana bread and package it in a gift box with some raffia and the recipient will think it looks like it came from a specialty bakery, but with the great taste of something homemade.

Of course when giving a cheap Christmas gift, it is usually helpful to know the recipient.  In those cases you can usually know of something that is under ten dollars that they really would want and use, whether it be their favorite scented lotion or a box of their favorite golf balls.

Giving a cheap Christmas gift is not the easiest task in the world, but when done with caution it can turn out fabulously!

How To Find The Most Popular Christmas Gifts For Children

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

When it comes to Christmas gifts, many parents have no idea what the most popular Christmas gifts are for that year. The kids know, and may be wishing for something special, but many times parents are completely knocked for a loop when it comes time to shop.

If it turns out the gift your daughter has been dreaming of is a popular one, it may be hard to find. If you are looking around December 24th, you may not find it at all.

When this happens, parents panic. That one special gift is important, and if you can’t find it, you feel like you may have let your child down.

Understandably, many parents try to keep away from the commercialism of Christmas, and try to teach their children there is more to this holiday than getting the most popular Christmas gifts under the tree in the morning. This is wonderful, but it doesn’t mean you can’t find a few special things that they have been wishing for. No matter what your religious convictions are, getting that special present is still part of the magic of Christmas.

When your child has their heart set on a gift that just happens to be one of the most popular Christmas gifts available that year, you may have to search high and low to find it. This can be spending hours on the phone trying to find a store that has it, and then racing there in hopes that it is still on the shelf. There hasn’t been a huge shortage since the Tickle Me Elmo days, but popular toys are still on short demand on occasion.

Long before December 24th, find out what you kids are wishing for, and find out if you can find the one gift they want the most. It may be one of that years most popular Christmas gifts, and you don’t want to be left empty handed. If you can’t find the item in the stores, order it online.

If the toy is extremely popular, you may have to go to eBay to find it. You may be able to back order the toy from another website, but in that case, your child may have to wait until after Christmas to get it.

The most popular Christmas gifts may not be the ones you see on a popular toys list online or in the paper. What ends up being your child’s favorite gift might be something unique that no one around them has. You can find many unique and novelty gifts at specialty stores and on the Internet. It is nice when you can find the perfect gift for your child without spending days on end searching for it.
